We will pay a fair price for any computer equipment that you have finished with providing that we consider it to be suitable for refurbishing.
We are interested in purchasing tower systems, desktop systems, laptops, monitors, printers, etc.
However we do have certain criteria which must be met before we will consider purchasing goods for refurbishing. These are as follows:
1/ The items must be in good working order.
2/ There must be no damage to casings or covers other than minor scratching and other minor cosmetic imperfections.
3/ The equipment must preferably have been manufactured by a reputable supplier and carry a CE mark.
4/ In the case of desktop and tower systems the system must meet or exceed the following minimum specifications:
i. 500MHz Processor (Pentium 3 or equivalent minimum).
ii. 6 GByte Hard disc drive.
iii. 2 or more USB ports.
iv. 128 MBytes of main memory.
v. Must have an optical drive (CD or DVD).
5/ Ownership of the equipment should be confirmed with receipts where possible.
6/ In all cases we ask that a form is completed by the seller to confirm the sale to us (this is needed for our tax purposes).
7/ We do not buy systems that people bring to the door. We will only purchase items from people during a pre-arranged visit to your premises. This is so that we can satisfy ourselves that sellers are genuine and that the goods are not stolen. This is a security measure for everyone’s protection and not an indication of our mistrust of the general public or any particular person.
8/ Sellers must live within a ten mile distance by road of Bideford, Devon.
What we will pay
We have a formula for calculating the price that we will pay for second user goods. The price offered will be improved if the items are in good condition and if they have the original packaging and/or literature with them. In the case of computer systems please bear in mind that we are prepared to pay a premium price if a Windows operating system (Windows 2000 and above) is loaded, there is a genuine back up operating system disk and user manual and there is a certificate of authenticity attached to the item. It is well worthwhile therefore checking through your cupboards, etc. to try to find your original paperwork and disks.
We can normally give an idea of the price that we might be prepared to offer for equipment by e-mail or over the telephone if you can supply sufficient detail. We try to be fair and as generous as we can afford to be, do bear in mind however that we do need to make a small profit in order to stay in business.
Note that we cannot justify making special journeys simply to collect small value items such as printers or monitors but would try to fit in such collections when we are in your area for other reasons. We have to think of the environmental impact of making too many journeys as well as the cost of fuel and the time implications.
We reserve the right to refuse to purchase any equipment for any reason that we feel fit. In particular we will refuse to purchase the equipment if we are not satisfied regarding it’s ownership, if it does not work properly, if it’s in a poor cosmetic state, if it appears to be in a dangerous condition or if it does not meet our minimum specification for refurbishing.
